Spring Cleaning with Smokiez

By Bill Thompson

Spring is here, so it’s time to take charge of your space with a little spring cleaning!

If you find yourself in need of a little motivation to get scrubbing, here’s a few things you can do to set the mood for a day of productivity:

• Try making your experience more exciting with edibles like our Smokiez 1:1 THC/THCV Sour Cherry Fruit Chews, which contain 10mgs of THC and 10mgs of THCV per chew, or our Smokiez 2:1 THC/THCV Tropical Fruit Chews, which contain 10mg of THC and 5mg of THCV per chew. The THC can give you a fun, heady buzz, while the THCV can help you maintain energy and focus throughout the duration of your cleaning sesh.

• Put on an upbeat, nostalgic playlist that you’d use for a high intensity workout, or listen to a podcast, e-book, or tv show that you’ve been meaning to catch up on. There’s mothing like a good multi-task.

• Set up a FaceTime call with a friend or family member who also has to clean their space. Mirroring a task can make it seem less overwhelming, and perhaps there can be some real-time swapping of items that would’ve otherwise headed to a landfill.

Checklist of things to clean and organize:

• Clean out that stash - Go through your edibles and sort them by best-by date. Enjoy or give away the edibles that are coming close to expiring, and put the edibles with a longer shelf-life towards the back of your stash.

• Soak your glass - While you’re cleaning your stash, take some time to give your glass a nice isopropyl alcohol bath, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?

• Make sure to dust - Spring allergies can be brutal, and if you like your Smokiez Edibles with a side of puffs, you should be particularly mindful of dust bunnies hiding out in ceiling fans, light fixtures, window sills, blinds, and baseboards.

• Wash your windows - By hitting your windows with a little Windex on both the inside and the outside, you’ll be surprised how much brighter your home gets.

• Vacuum - Any rugs, carpets, runners, and floor mats. Change your vacuum to the hardwood floor setting to spare your back from sweeping. Move your couch and other large pieces of furniture to get a deep clean.

• Laundry - Freshen up the entire house by catching up on laundry. Don’t just wash clothes, but tackle towels, rugs, bedding, and even cloth shower and window curtains.

• Clean doors and walls - if you have children or pets, you probably have some scuff marks on your walls and doors, so hit them with a Magic Eraser and it’ll be like it never happened.

• Pantry - Remove old/unused products for garbage or donation. Rotate by expiration date, and use up the items you forgot about.

• Closets - Swap out your winter clothes for lighter, more breathable apparel for summer. Make a pile of clothing you no longer want or wear, and list it on your local Buy Nothing group on Facebook to help out a friendly neighbor. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

• Wipe everything down and sanitize it - From garbage bins, to door knobs, stove tops, and cabinets, leave no surface untouched.

• Deep clean fridge and freezer - Figure out what you have hiding in the back, and defrost for meals this week. This is a great time to use the crockpot or instant pot, and meal prep a few dishes for the week while you’re at it.

• Descale appliances - The buildup that can form in countertop ice machines and coffee makers is downright gross. Empty them out and run a few cycles with water and some white vinegar to descale your machine and remove any mold.

• Bathroom grime removal - Make sure your tub is fully wiped down, and steam clean the cracks and corners for any grout buildup. Replace the inner shower curtain if it’s molded. Wipe down faucets and scrub the sink.

• Spring clean your car - Throw out any takeout trash, save your loose coins for the piggy bank, and vacuum cup holders, floor mats, and seats. Wipe off dust that might be lingering on the dashboard or doors.

• Clean or replace your filters - From the vacuum cleaner, to the ACs, HVAC systems, and the fridge’s ice maker.
