We’re celebrating the National Sleep Foundation’s National Sleep Awareness Week from March 8th-14th, 2026, coinciding with Daylight Savings Time. In its 28th year, this call to action reminds the world to prioritize getting quality sleep for the sake of their health and well-being.
The foundation’s 2025 findings suggest that “people with better sleep health are more likely to flourish.”
It’s clear that our sleep habits are directly correlated to our overall health, but these habits also impact our:
- Productivity
- Mood
- Social life
- And our ability to safely operate machinery
Our family-led, multi-generational team experiences sleep disturbances at all levels. Like you, we range from being:
- New parents, battling late-night feedings and wake windows with the responsibility of a home and livelihood on our shoulders
- Older adults with physical pain that keeps us tossing and turning at night
- Athletes who occasionally need to recover from physical injuries
- Overcaffeinated to stay up and accommodate demanding, action-packed days
- Overthinkers who spend most nights ruminating about our to-do lists

Tips for a Good Night of Sleep:
- Mindfulness: Unplug from your devices. Put down your phone at least one hour before bed. Incorporate techniques like breathwork and meditation into your nightly routine to help set a calming tone for your mind and body.
- Sound machines and blackout curtains or a sleep mask: Dim the lights and create a comfortable, dark environment compatible with a good night’s sleep.
- Moving your body throughout the day: Regular daytime movement helps you achieve quality sleep at night. Evening activities are a great option too, but try to fit them in about an hour or two before you plan to hit the sheets. Consider a leisurely walk, which can help release endorphins and reduce stress. Practicing gentle yoga poses such as Child’s Pose, Legs-Up-the-Wall, and Supine Twists, to help to release tension in the body and calm the mind.
-
Limit caffeine intake: Cut back on caffeinated drinks at least 6-8 hours before bed.
